We join in honoring Jackie Robinson Day, recognizing the enduring legacy of a true pioneer who broke barriers in baseball and beyond. Today prompts us to reflect on Robinson's impact and how we can uplift our youth, especially in communities like Chicago.

In Chicago, and at NAASDA (Need an Angel Sons and Daughters Association), we proudly celebrate the Jackie Robinson West Little League team, whose historic triumph in the Little League World Series showcased our city's youth talent and resilience. Their victory reminds us of the boundless potential within every child, regardless of their background.

Jackie Robinson's story goes beyond baseball; it's about providing opportunities for young people to excel and instilling values like teamwork and sportsmanship. Yet, Jackie Robinson Day also reminds us of the ongoing challenges our youth face, from educational disparities to systemic barriers.

As we celebrate Jackie Robinson Day, let us also celebrate the indelible mark left by the Jackie Robinson West Little League team. Their legacy continues to inspire future generations of athletes and serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of youth excellence. Here's to the champions who brought glory to Chicago and exemplified the true essence of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
